After six trying years with the Premier League giants, the World Cup-winning midfielder Paul Pogba will leave Old Trafford as a free agent this summer.

Paul Pogba has pledged to show Manchester United that they “made a mistake” by allowing him to go on a free transfer, querying why he was not handed a new deal at Old Trafford sooner.

After allowing his contract with Man United to expire, the fascinating 29-year-old is set to take on a new challenge as reports suggesting the midfielder is set to return to Serie A giants Juventus is now more likely.

The 29-year-old will depart Old Trafford this summer when his contract expires, and Juventus is predicted to be his next destination.

The arrogant response of Pogba to United’s eye-watering contract offer, which he thought was derisory, shocked the fans.

Many supporters believed that it demonstrated the midfielder’s disconnect from the general populace with the present difficulty at the expense of life.

Many of the Old Trafford faithful were happy to see Pogba go this summer since their connection with him was already beyond repair.

The French international returned to the Red Devils in the summer of 2016 after departing the team as a youngster in 2012 for a record £89.3 million fees.

When he returned to United back in 2016, Pogba, who graduated from United’s renowned academy system and made his professional debut under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2011, was viewed by many as a genuine Ballon d’Or candidate.

After 226 games for United, he is leaving, although throughout that time he only produced 39 goals and never found a consistent spot in a system that allowed him to consistently provide his best.

Our Verdict

Listening to Paul Pogba’s comments, it is clear that the Frenchman was let down by the club’s hierarchy, same with the likes of Jesse Lingard who was also mistreated.

Pogba’s future at Old Trafford was never going to work due to the same problems occurring upstairs of the club’s mismanagement of players and contract renewals.
