Barcelona are having a financial crisis at the club and therefore the Catalans board members are willing to move on the Dutchmen from Camp Nou.

Manchester United has shown interest in Frenkie de Jong for months and the latest reports suggest that a 75m euros deal will be struck between the two clubs.

Spanish journalist Gerard Romero who has good connections with Barca has stated that de Jong will be signing a new contract with Manchester United this month and the possibility of this deal is 95%.

Having said that some tier 1 journalist in Fabrizio Romano and Samuel Luckhurst has also confirmed that the Spanish heavyweights that are definitely keen to sell the dutch international and the Red Devils will look to sell the player.

Probability of this deal happening?

As mentioned with the ‘95%’ figure by Gerard Romero, and with Fabrizio Romano and Samuel Luckurst claiming that there are interest in Ten Hag this news may have some credibility.

Last month, AS reported that Barcelona had reached an agreement to buy Valencia midfielder, Carlos Soler. However, this is contingent on De Jong being sold.

With correlates to the fact that Barcelona has suffered massively in terms of its economical aspects and the board will be needing to gather funds to build the club around Xavi.

The signing of Carlos Soler could mean that Barcelona have already started to find replacements for de Jong and with Ten Hag already discuss his desire to bring de Jong to Old Trafford, we will need to keep a closer look at this deal.

Ten Hag will be the focal point in this transfer

The Dutch manager has been a big influence on the 24-year-old midfielder back in his early stages at Ajax and this deal could give a kick start to Ten Hag’s career at Old Trafford.

De Jong has been developed by a dynamic style of play at Ajax and the player has the quality to play in all areas of the pitch(no.6, no.8, no.10).

Although his predominant position is the CDM role which the United squad needs desperately in order to progress forward and there is no doubt that De Jong will straightaway bolster our midfield.

Given that Fabrizio Romano has stated that Ten Hag will be crucial in this trade, the Dutch coach will not need much convincing.

Despite the lack of strong evidence or confirmation between the two clubs, there must have been discussions between de Jong and Ten Hag behind the scenes.

The chances of this deal happening is high on the stakes but we will have to wait and see for more confirmation from some credible sources.
