Rangnick recognizes Haidara as the ideal addition for Manchester United this month, despite the fact that the club’s executives have been slow to act as competition heats up.

Manchester United’s lack of haste could cost them the signing of Amadou Haidara, Ralf Rangnick’s top target.
The German manager is a big fan of the Red Bull Leipzig star, and the interim United manager has already made contact with his previous club to try to work out a transfer.
However, the 63-year-old is looking to add to his midfield options this month and sees Haidara, 23, as a good short-term and long-term addiction.
Leipzig are willing to transfer the Malian international, who is currently representing his nation at AFCON, and have a verbal agreement with Rangnick for a £33 million sum.
United, on the other hand, has yet to make an official proposal to the German club and may thus miss out on Haidara entirely.
Newcastle’s new owner has taken notice of their interest and is hoping to finalize the transaction before the January transfer window shuts.
This might work against United, as club executives will be hesitant to invest money while Rangnick remains in charge.
Rangnick is simply keeping the seat warm for his permanent successor to take over in the summer, therefore the United management is hesitant to allow him free reign in the transfer market.
Rangnick has grown increasingly annoyed that United have not backed him in the transfer market so far, but the futures of several United players are looking good.
Jesse Lingard’s contract expires in the summer, and Newcastle and West Ham are interested in signing him this month, however, he could wait until the summer for further offers.
French star-midfielder Paul Pogba is also in a similar situation and is poised to leave Old Trafford, despite United’s best efforts to keep him.
As a result, Rangnick is now unsure how much influence he will have on transfers in the future until the new manager is hired.

He also likes Denis Zakaria of Borussia Monchengladbach, who will be a free agent in the summer but can be had for a bargain this month.
Red Devils are also interested in acquiring Brighton’s Yves Bissouma but would prefer to wait until the summer to bring in a new manager.
