According to rumors, Manchester United has dropped out of the competition to sign Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland, as the club has accepted the player’s desire to join Real Madrid this summer.
With a £64 million release clause scheduled to be activated after the season ends, the Norwegian attacker is poised to leave Dortmund this summer.
The 21-year-old has scored 79 goals in 78 games in a Dortmund shirt, Haaland is expected to be pursued by some of the world’s best clubs, including Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Barcelona.
Man United, though, will not make a move for Haaland this summer, as reported by ESPN, and will instead look for other strikers after learning that Haaland’s first preference is Real Madrid.

Players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Elanga, and Mason Greenwood are United’s striker options at the moment, although all of them have been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, except the last three players mentioned.
Real Madrid is reportedly interested in signing PSG attacker Kylian Mbappe alongside Haaland this season after two bids for the French World Cup champion were rebuffed by the Spanish giant last summer.
However, Haaland has expressed dissatisfaction with the pressure put on him by his present team Dortmund to either sign a new deal or decide on his next club.
Erling Haaland, United’s obvious #1 aim appears to be out of reach and Edinson Cavani who is due to leave Old Trafford after his contract expires, there will be curiosity in the fan base to know what the other alternatives Red Devils have in place.
