According to Spanish publication Sport, Julian Alvarez is one of the players on United’s transfer list for January.

Julian Alvarez is a very attractive proposition for many big European clubs. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Internazionale, and Bayern Munich are all said to be interested in signing the young Argentine.

The 21-year-old forward has scored 23 goals and added 18 assists in his resume in his 53 games for River Plate. In 2021 the Argentinian burst into the scenes when his team was crowned as Argentina’s champions Liga Profesional.

He was also in Argentina’s Copa America winning squad and the Guardian recently ranked him 91st among the world’s top 100 footballers.

Fernando Hidalgo, his agent, is due to close an agreement with United. Alvarez has a release clause of 20m euros and reports suggest that the Premier League giants are stepping up their efforts.

The River Plates youngster is someone who can play anywhere across the frontline, and after a highly impressive campaign in his native Argentina, he is someone who Rangnick might consider adding to his squad.

Anthony Martial who has requested to leave old Trafford due to lack of game-time could be the perfect chance for United to get rid of the Frenchman and bring in someone who is very much younger and appears to be just as exciting in terms of talent.

The young Argentine is agile and a versatile player who can fit very well with Rangnick’s direct approach to the game.

Alvarez could be turn out to be a replacement as Anthony Martial’s departure is one step closer as he certainly has the potential to fit in the German game plan.
